Cars started to get radios in the 1930s. This is an advertisement for a 1937 Philips Auto Radio. It was in a different class to our car stereos today. It took up 8 litres of space and weighed 24kg! It had to be mounted to the floor and a wired remote control was fitted to the dashboard.
